Here are a few snapshots from my Wisconsin Sheep and Wool 2018 journey.
Some of the highlights for this year were the Open Skein Competition and the Sheep to Shawl Competition. I won 4 ribbons in the Experienced class—two 1st place, two 2nd place. Last year, I won a 2nd place ribbon. For spinning less than 3 years, I am grateful to even have a ribbon. I never know what to expect, but I enjoy the experience overall. (Note: Some of these yarn sparkle. I took a video of them and posted them on my Instagram page.)
Our team, Team HK: Beauty and the Fleece, had a wonderful representation at this year's Sheep to Shawl Competition in Wisconsin. It was a first time for our team, but we were excited to be part of a new offering to the Wisconsin festival. I am so proud of my team for all of their hard work and efforts to pull through such a challenging task. Check out the slideshow.
I had the opportunity to shop at the marketplace and left with a clean Romney fleece. It is light grey and just delicious-looking. It is always such a fun festival to attend, and I can't wait to go back next year.
